Learn About Priesthood?
We hope that every young man will seriously consider whether God might be calling him to serve the Church in the priesthood! The priests at St. Peter’s Cathedral are eager to discuss vocations, answer questions, and offer guidance.
Please contact Fr. Joel L. Seipp, Director of Vocations.

Get Involved?
There’s a lot going on at Cathedral Parish. Much of it can be explored on this website under the headings “Stewardship, Faith Formation, and Outreach.” From the education of our children to ministry of care for our homebound, from lectors at Mass to cooks for funeral luncheons, there is something for everyone!
Become a Catholic?
Are you interested in becoming Catholic at the Cathedral of St. Peter? If so, we look forward to welcoming you!
Start by completing the request for information by clicking here or call (618) 234-1166.
Becoming Catholic typically happens through a process called the OCIA: Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (formerly RCIA). With others who are interested in becoming Catholic, we make progress from the autumn through just after Easter.
Learn About My Faith?
It’s been remarked that Catholicism is “ever so much bigger from the inside than from the outside.” Our two thousand years of tradition and heritage provide inexhaustible riches for anyone who cares to explore and learn. The Cathedral parish offers various formation and education opportunities, many of which are described on the Faith Formation page.
Serve the Poor?
Christ tells us “Whatever you did for the least of my brethren, you did for me.” Inspired by his command, the Cathedral of St. Peter serves the poor with a free breakfast every Saturday morning, the Cathedral Food Pantry, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Other opportunities arise as well. For more information, see the Outreach page.
Get Married at Cathedral?
The Cathedral parish and staff congratulate engaged couples! Those who wish to be married in the Cathedral (and Catholics who wish to marry elsewhere) may find information on our Weddings page about this beautiful sacrament.
Have my child Baptized?
The Baptism of infants can take place during Mass or outside of Mass, and scheduling is quite flexible on Sundays outside of Lent. Some Sacramental preparation is involved if the child to be baptized is your first. Visit our Baptism page for more information regarding this sacrament.
Contribute Financially?
The Cathedral relies on the generous giving of members and benefactors to meet costs, pay bills, and support vital ministries. The great majority of this giving takes place in weekly Mass collections. If you are considering a donation or bequest, please call us at (618) 234-1166.
